Preserve Patient Access to Physician Care:

Physicians are the only providers whose Medicare payments do not automatically receive an annual inflationary update. As a result, payments to Medicare physicians have been steadily declining relative to inflation and this trend will persist unless Congress acts to fix the flawed and outdated payment rules.
This resolution serves as a unique new avenue for members to advocate for Medicare reform and patient access. This resolution will help mobilize state legislators to call on their congressional counterparts to protect patient access to physicians, including dermatologic surgeons, placing additional pressure on Congress to act now to reform Medicare.
