ASDS created the Skinnovation Media event to be a conduit and go-to resource for editors and writers reporting on skin health and beauty topics.

ASDS members are board certified dermatologists who have the unique training and experience required to treat the health, function and beauty of patients’ skin, hair and nails. Skinnovation events connect media representatives with renowned dermatologists to encourage connections for interviews and story ideas.

Skinnovation NYC

On May 16, 2018, an expert panel of ASDS members hosted nearly 60 digital media representatives at the Public Hotel in the Manhattan district of New York City for an evening event to reveal the innovative treatments, trends and aesthetic techniques that serve as the driving force of the skin care market today.

Event attendees were digital creators – including bloggers, vloggers and influencers who target skin care and beauty content – alongside traditional media outlets.

“Skinnovation NYC provided our Society with a platform to engage with the media and influencers, so they can further educate their audiences to make informed decisions when it comes to caring for their skin,” said ASDS President Lisa Donofrio, MD. “The market is flooded with false claims, yet consumers are two times as likely to use social media for health care information. It’s vital that ASDS members are a part of that digital conversation that is driving consumer health care decisions.”

Skinnovation NYC was a huge success, generating almost half a million social impressions in just one hour and increasing likes on the ASDS Skin MD Facebook page by 343 percent in one month. Additionally, through use of live video streaming and posting on-site, the page’s engagement rate with followers was up by 262 percent.

Exclusive sponsorship from 24 Industry Advisory Council (IAC) members added to the event’s success with tabletops for mingling and attendee gift bag participation.
