Annual Award for Emerging Leaders Demonstrating Commitment to the Society

ROLLING MEADOWS, Ill., OCTOBER 12, 2018 – Shannon Humphrey, MD, FRCPC, was recognized for the 2018 Award for Outstanding Service by the American Society for Dermatologic Surgery (ASDS), the largest specialty organization representing dermatologic surgeons at the ASDS Annual Meeting in Phoenix, Arizona.

Since 2012, the ASDS Award for Outstanding Service has recognized young, emerging leaders of ASDS who have demonstrated commitment to the Society’s growth and success. It is bestowed annually to one ASDS member who has volunteered his or her time for multiple Society projects or initiatives. In an effort to recognize early-career volunteers, award recipients must be out of residency for one to 10 years.Shannon Humphrey, MD, FRCPC

Dr. Humphrey is the Medical Director at Carruthers & Humphrey Cosmetic Dermatology and Clinical Assistant Professor and Director of Continuing Medical Education in the Department of Dermatology at the University of British Columbia in Vancouver. Recently elected to the ASDS / ASDSA Boards of Directors, she has served as faculty for the ASDS Annual Meeting since 2010 and served on multiple work groups including Education, Annual Meeting, Leadership Development, Young Dermatologic Surgeons and the Soft Tissue Fillers Guidelines Task Force. In addition, Dr. Humphrey has participated as mentee and mentor through the Future Leaders Network Programand is a peer reviewer and Contributing Editor for the Society’s journal, Dermatologic Surgery.

She is an outstanding role model for all ASDS members, and the Society is pleased to recognize her efforts through this award.”
